There are numerous website positioning reporting instruments on the market, however what are the core instruments you might want to create an website positioning report?

On this article, I’ll share with you 8 of my favourite website positioning reporting instruments that let you create complete website positioning reviews at no cost.

Google Search Console (often known as GSC) is among the most generally used instruments for monitoring necessary website positioning metrics from Google searches.

One of my favorite reports at GSC is Indexing report. It is useful for SEO reporting as it allows you to share the ratio of indexed and non-indexed pages in your SEO reports.

If your website has many pages that aren’t indexed, it’s worth checking them to understand why they aren’t being indexed.

Google Looker Studio (GLS), formerly known as Google Data Studio (GDS), is a free tool that helps you visualize your data in shareable dashboards.

Most common report use cases

Dashboard is an important part SEO reporting and GLS allow you to get a complete picture of search performance from multiple sources through their integration.

GLS allows you to quickly connect to a variety of data sources.

like:

  • marketing products – Google Ads, Google Analytics, Display & Video 360, Search Ads 360
  • consumer products – Google Sheets, YouTube, Google Search Console
  • database – BigQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL
  • social media platform – Facebook, Reddit, Twitter
  • File – CSV file upload and Google Cloud Storage

Screaming Frog is a website crawler that helps you audit your website.

The free version of Screaming Frog’s crawler is perfect if you want to perform a simple audit on a large number of URLs. The free version is limited to 500 URLs, making it ideal for crawling small websites.

Most common report use cases

As for the report, report Screaming Frog SEO Spider’s menu includes analysis, redirection, normalization, pagination, hreflang, structured data, etc.

Once your site is crawled, simply download the report you need and consider the main issues you want to summarize in your SEO report.

Screaming Frog can ingest data from other tools such as: Using Ahrefs, API.

One of the most popular free SEO tools is: Ahrefs Webmaster Tools (AWT). Can be used for SEO reporting.

AWT allows you to:

  • Set up scheduled SEO audits to monitor your SEO health over time
  • Check website performance
  • Check all known backlinks of your website

My favorite free tools from Ahrefs are A.W.T. Among them, site audit is my favorite feature. Once set up, it’s a completely hands-free way to track the technical performance of your website and monitor its health.

If you already have access to Google Search Console, it’s easy to set up a free AWT account and schedule a technical crawl of your website.

Ahrefs’ SEO toolbar is free chromium and Firefox This extension helps you diagnose technical points in your pages or carry out fast spot checks in your web site’s pages.

For website positioning reporting, it’s helpful to carry out on-page checks in your web site. Make sure there are no major problems with your home page.

Similar to GSC, Google Analytics is also a tool that you can use to track your website’s performance and track things like sessions and conversions on your website.

GA gives you a comprehensive view of your website traffic from a variety of sources, including direct, social, organic, and paid traffic.

Favorite features

GA4 allows you to create and track up to 300 events and 30 conversions. Previously, Universal Analytics could only track 20 conversions. This makes it easier to track conversions and events within GA4.

Google Slides is Google’s version of Microsoft PowerPoint. If you don’t have a dashboard set up to create reports, The next best thing when it comes to SEO performance is to assemble a slide deck.

Many SEO agencies present their reports through dashboard insights or PowerPoint presentations. However, if you don’t have access to PowerPoint, Google Slides is a great (and free) alternative.

One of my favorite features is the ability to share presentations via video chat directly from Google Slides. To do this, click on the camera icon in the top right corner.

This is useful when working with remote clients and makes it easier to share reports.

Google Trends lets you see the popularity of keywords in any country over time. The data displayed is not the direct volume of search queries, but relative popularity rates scaled from 0 to 100.

Most common report use cases

Google Trends helps show you how the popularity of certain searches increases and decreases over time. If you’re dealing with a website that frequently posts trending products, services, or news, it’s helpful to illustrate this visually in your SEO report.

Google Trends makes it easy to spot seasonal trends in product categories. For example, people want to buy a barbecue when the weather is sunny.

Using Google Trends, you can see that peak demand for barbecue typically occurs between June and July of each year.

Using this data from the past five years, we can tell you pretty accurately when barbecue season starts and ends.

Comparing two or more search terms over time is one of my favorite ways to use Google Trends because it can tell the story of itself.

Embellish your reports with trend data to gain further insight into market trends.
